Fall Fun in full effect!
Dear Friends of our Roosevelt Community,
Fall is here and the students and staff have enjoyed participating in exciting grant funded activities! The Kindergarten and 1st grade students delighted in a trip to Von Thun Farms, where they learned about daily life and food production on the farm, met friendly barnyard animals and picked apples and potatoes to bring home! These classes quickly planned another trip to Etsch farms to take a hayride through a cornfield, use their teamwork and navigation skills to navigate the corn maze, meet more animals and learn about pumpkins!
The “Visiting Artist Program” (VAP) grant program kicked off with their first artist, who guided the students to make their own paint and then design, create and decorate their own paper attire: gloves, shirts, pants or masks. The VAP program looks forward to a full school year of Roosevelt community artists bringing passion and knowledge of their craft to the classroom with the students. We are thrilled to share that RPSEF's first fundraiser for the 2026-2027 school year was a huge success earning $1,728!!! These earned funds will go to good use as it is shaping up to be an incredible school year, with a variety of grant activities already approved! We anticipate a wealth of novel, captivating learning opportunities for the RPS students, including field trips to the farm, the aquarium, the State Theatre, Nature Center, and an exciting Young Audiences Assembly Program! We also look forward to grant funds supporting another year of Theater Club after an extremely successful first year where students explored script reading, character development, stage presence, costumes, set and production elements, and behind-the-scenes crew responsibilities.
